Any way to test the Oil Metering Pump?

I had my oil changed about 5 weeks ago and have driven my 8 every day since. I checked my oil today and noticed that the oil level hasn't changed at all. I'm wondering if my OMP is working properly.

Is there any way to tell?

it really depends on the load.

so you might have to go at least 1000 miles on regular driving to see any level drop.

for your question, yes there is, but there is NO WAY to tell if the pump is really pumping(more like dripping) oil.

I have driven just over 1000 miles. Guess I will just have to wait a few more weeks.

It's probably fine, but I just want to be sure.

I have noticed that when I first change my oil that it take at least about 1000 miles or so till I see any use of oil on the dipstick and by 1500 I'm usually adding 3/4 or a quart or so...like NYC said try taking it out for some spirited driving for a day and see what happens....

I"m sure it's fine...
