it sorta sucks. the ion rinse is cool though. but you can't use any other soaps in it, and that's its downfall. the mr. clean soap is *****.

I've seen some pretty good reviews of it here actually. And if all I really use it for is the spot-free rinse, then it's still worth it for how cheap it was. I figure it's worth a shot at least.

 

I swear by my Mr. Clean. Works great.

don't get me wrong, it isn't terrible. but after using better products, you notice the difference.

the rinse though, i think it works well. makes it easier to dry with a towel.

 

More than anything, I hope it convinces my girlfriend to wash her car more often. I will likely do mine by hand the long way most of the time still, but for quick jobs I think it could be handy.

Not interested in the filter and solution, only the nozzle. I wonder if I can use it as a gun for suds for pre wash rinse.

 

The soap that comes with that kit is VERY hard on whatever wax/sealant you have. Even though it says you can't use any other kind of soap with it, I've been using Duragloss soap in mine with no problem for a year. It really does make a good cheap foam gun if you have good water pressure.

 

Do the instructions still say that you should leave your car out in the rain for the residue of the ion drying stuff (or something like that) to rinse away? There was a thread here a couple of years ago by someone who never went out in the rain and determined that his finish was being damaged by Mr. Clean.

I tried Mr. Clean a couple of times. I finally decided that the time needed for the no-dry ion rinse was just as long as it would take me to towel the car off. The soap dispenser nozzle was pretty cool, though.

I like the bucket-less aspect of the Mr. Clean. Of course you have to rinse your wash mitt, but it does preclude bucket dirt.

I'm using the new Ice soap in mine right now as I didn't have any of the Mr. Clean and it works fine.

The de-ionizing rinse really is a plus, especially if you miss drying an area or get 'latent drip.' I can't remember the last time I had a water spot.
