Question about AutoX from potential 8 owner.

Hi! I'm seriously considering replacing my current racing vehicle with and RX8.

Has anyone here tried to haul their race tires to the event IN THE CAR? It looks to me that four race tires could fit in the back seat(two in each seat), with room in the trunk for other stuff. I'm looking for a car that can potentially have room to haul all my race stuff to the track without having a trailer. I had bad experience driving to the event on race rubber and I don't want to do that again. How 'bout it?

Thanks in advance!

MF

Yep, that's exactly how I carried mine. Get some large bags from your friendly neighborhood Discount Tire so you don't mess up the interior.

I used to carry mine that way, but since the switch to 275/35/18 Hoosiers, they will no longer fit in the rear seat (in ANY configuration), so now we take two cars to the events until someone figures out how to get a trailer hitch on the 8.

Wow, that must mean it's a really tight fit!

Thanks again!

245's are not a problem with me. If I don't have a passenger, I do two in the rear, one in the front passenger seat, and one in the trunk.

I could (just) get all four 245's in the back seat, and me (5'10") and my codriver (6'5") in the two front seats. Jack, helmet, numbers, lunch, all else in the trunk.

Now, no go.

BUT, it's nice having the Element to keep all the "stuff" in in inclement weather, etc.
