Well, my rotors are pretty much warped....
and pads are due to be replace soon.
I've been searching/reading all the rotors post, but still lost.
I'm planning to get some slotted/drill rotors for the added bling.
But i just got a deal on 2 front OEM rotors for only 115 bucks, and the stealership wants to charge me 135 to machine my rotors.
SO the question is, should i get the new front rotors and replace them myself?
Or save up and get the whole set of slotted/drilled rotors.

 

DBA offers, I have been told, a very strong set of cross drilled rotors that BHR can get you for right around $600 I think. He can also provide the Hawk HPS pads for a good price (I just picked some up myself and really like them - plus less dust!) Other people have gone with a company like rotorpros for rotors which have a little less drilling and would then (it would seem) be stronger. I think there are people on the forum here who have been pleased (at least in the short term) with rotorpros stuff. If your ok with just slots, I just got the racing brake slotted rotors and really love the look of them.

You have probably already read that the cross drilling really doesn't do anything except look cool and allow the rotor to heat up quicker (obviously most noticeable under track conditions). But, I must say, if you don't need the performance from non-drilled, I do love the look of the drilled rotors...

If you do decide to stay with stock stuff just take the opportunity to paint the hubs so the wheels don't become what looks like an all-consuming landfill.

 

yeaaa i do not track my car at all. Rarely may be once or twice a year i go autox wit couple friends. That being said thx for the advice

 

Where are you located? I have a set of OEM fronts that are in good shape.

Your rotors aren't warped, see Brake FAQ https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-wheels-tires-brakes-suspension-55/brake-faq-167264/ , but if they are worn below the minimum thickness go to http://www.zeckhausenracing.com/ and get Centric Premium rotors at $65 for the fronts, best bang for the buck. A machine shop should only charge $15-$25 per rotor to turn but you don't need to turn them, re Brake FAQ.

 

Yeah, im not looking for expensive rotors. Since i dont track, just mostly daily driving.

 

yeah they were $120.00 shipped for the fronts and $110.00 shipped for the rears. Oems are twice that and centric OEM types are still more expensive.
