Hey guys,

I have searched this website for awhile now about the tires that I am looking at purchasing in the next week or so. I have narrowed the selection down to General Exclaims and BF Goodrich g-force sports. I am concerned about the lack of reputation with the General's (even though they have tested and reviewed quite well). They are cheaper but does that imply that I am going to get what I pay for?

I also have been reading about going to a different size of 245/40. However, so far I have not seen a spectacular price or selection increase at tire rack when I looked for this size. I read in another thread that they do not rub and that the speedo and gearing are only affected by 1%. I also saw a picture of them mounted and they look nice and not silly (as I feared).

I am not trying to be cheap (just cost effective) as I don't have the money for more than a $120 tire right now. If there is another tire that I am overlooking please fill me in (or if there is one on sale right now that I haven't come across). I should also include that I am looking for summer tires and not all seasons. I have snow tires/rims and I have no need for an all season.

Any opinions about this would be appreciated!
