Which do you prefer - Form or Function?

IMO, i would go with suspension. Springs and Shocks or coilovers - also some sways wouldn't hurt either.

Or if you want to go cosmetic - a nice kit + lowering springs would be legit.

ditch the k&n and put your stock back on with a drop in filter, throw on a mid pipe, maybe some sways, cobb ap, the driver mod, clear corners, lowering springs/coilovers. do some searching...theres tons out there, all depends on what you want.

cobb AP, midpipe, and some suspension **** of your choice

that's like 15-20hp (biggest gain you'll get out of an RX-8 without turbocharging) and improved fuel mileage...

Worst advice ever.

I'm afraid you can't just buy a generic turbo on ebay and expect it to work with this car. I think a Turbo is probably the best mod for power if you're going to do it right you should get a complete kit designed for the RX8 by a reputable seller you know and trust.

Don't give new folks bad advice please.

I just saw the for sale thread
https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-parts-sale-wanted-44/fs-cobb-ap-ms-strut-bars-tein-flx-172756/

-Mazdaspeed Strut Bars Front and Rear $200.00 for the set. They are in great condition no scratches.
-Tein Flex Coilovers $800.00 Excellent condition. 20K miles on them. No leaks. No rust. Some scratches on the paint, this happened when I took them off.
$300 left, u can buy a set or thicker sway bars, yea!!!! how lucky
your 8 will handle so good now

get a lil from each type of modding perspective.

-Resonated midpipe
-MM tuned cobb Accessport
-Megan lowering springs (sweet drop)
-K&N or GREEN drop in filter(also do the free intake mod in the DIY section)
-JDM(clear) corners/sidemarkers

should be less than $1300

if i could do it all agian thats how I would do it. low cost, efficient, no trial and error just good stuff!

Right. I'd do it in this order:

1)Cobb AP from MM
2)Short Shifter
3)Whatever else you want.
