Question ooh yay, another mysterious noise....

anyone out there get background noise like air or fan spinning from behind the dash even though fan and a/c are off and on interior air only? Seems to be coming out from the vents. I've read the thread about changing cabin filters and am gonna look at it tonight but anyone have any other ideas?

do you have the air channel selection for feet chosen or for dash and feet?

ok so i feel like a bit of a tool. its nothing to do with the air, although i did find out the dealer broke the plastic cover on my cabin filter. gobshite.

i had always had a gripe with what seemed to be noise coming from the air system but this is different. anyway, seems like it's gearbox, well transmission noise. i've just got a new engine and it would appear that since i got the car back there is a very noticeable noise in both second and fourth gears that i'm almost certain wasn't there before - very like the 'normal' noise you get with the engine running and foot off the clutch, only somewhat louder. Should i be worried? has the dealer screwed up doing the engine change? is there something wrong with the gearbox? Anyone?
