well yeah cost plays a big role in any car buying experience, for most people that is, but think would you rather save money on a car w/ high milage and a few thousand miles down the road have to spend money on the engine or whatever other mechanical problems that arise...

or spend a little more money on the same car w/ less milage and less worry? its a gamble either way ya know....eventually your gonna have to work on engine problems ect.. so its basically up to you on that part

It also depends on the kind of care the car received by the previous owner(s). So, would it be cheaper to get a new engine and have all other mechanical problems fixed sooner rather than later or get a car with fewer miles, use it as you will, then sell before it falls apart on you? Hmm, maybe it depends on how long you plan on keeping the car.

For $5,000 I would and I would turn it into a straight track car and use my current as a DD.

....not sounding too bad so far.... make sure you do some serious homework on it, and if you get in touch with Mazda North America, they could probably run the vin and tell you.

No I wouldnt, Unless i was doing a 20b swap. You can find $5000-$7000 RX8s in Salvage yards that are good for setting up for track, trust me, theres a LY and NG out here in a Salvage yard, They are in fixed running condition.

Ask a Mazda dealer to run the VIN.

It will state new motor if replaced.

hell no.

Why would anyone buy a performance car with that kind of mileage unless they are going to strip it out and end up replacing a lot of things anyway for a full on track car?

If you can find a good rotary mechanic to give it a thorough inspection and it has a clean history then it might be worth it. But you can probably find better deals.

I would buy it as a weekend toy with 100K miles. With the amount of miles I would put on it as a DD, I would look for lower miles. I would prob work on that price a little as well.
