When I had my 2.5RS coupe and Saabaru 92x, we tend wave to one another. I guess both cars are so rare. But somehow with the rx-8 even though is still pretty rare compared to other cars in the segment I just don't and have not received any.
Just wondering anyone here waves to fellow rx-8 drivers? Or are we too cool for this silly gestures?

I do all the time. I wave to all rotaries for that matter. Can't say everyone returns the wave though...

 

If I ever see one… I will.

The other day, I was in a different city, and waved at one, and as it approached I realized it was an r3 and waved with my jaw hanging. hah

 

In the month I've had my RX-8, I have waved at a couple of RX-8s, and got waves back.

I barely see Rx-8's around my area... So I don't wave to them.

 

I did for the first year or two. Everyone was so proud to be in such an exclusive car. Now, it seems like RX8 owners pretend they don't even see me.

rx7 owners are much more responsive

 

I stopped waving.. I noticed 90% of the rx8 drivers don't know they are driving a rotary so they are matter-less. If i see a modded 8 I will flash em with my head lights tho.

 

i have tried waving but dont get any in return...a couple of em rev their engines to me

Agree... not many around my area..but I wave at all rotaries...but i dont think I have ever gotten a return wave.

 

recently most 8 "owners" don't waive, but they don't get the car...i can tell they just don't realize what they're driving when i pass them!! 7 owners wave, i've noticed some 3 owners that have modded they're 3 will wave, but most 8's in this area seem to be driven by non-enthusiasts...but doesn't stop me from trying (waving, honk, flash lights...)

 

i got waved at but i didnt return cause i was too surprised lmao. but yes if i see one ill wave.

I wave at RX8 owners, and I give them the thumbs up... I usually get the look of "why the hell is that guy in the grand am waving at me?"

One of these days I'll get a wave back who knows me here.

 

When I was driving through San Fransisco on a long road trip from AK to CO, I honked and waved at an 8 and he flipped me off! That was actually the last time I waved at an 8....

 

Same here...I don't do it anymore..I guess I thought people got the impression I was crazy or something...they're like "who the f*ck is that black guy waving at?"..

 

It depends on the situation - but I usually toss them a wave, or at least a couple fingers up from the steering wheel as we pass. A few return, but a lot of the 8s around here are driven by what appear to be 50 something ladies, so I don't think they're all about the rotary brotherhood. Though to be fair, I bet there's at least a few 50-something women out there with totally bitchin' 8s who know way more than I ever will!

when I first got my 8 I waved at a couple like I wave when I'm on my bike to other bikes, but every time I waved people just give me this weird wtf you looking at look. Now I just give and get thumbs up; not only from 8s but other cars too. Hell a police officer just gave me the thumbs up not to long ago today.

 

I wave at all RX8's, even when driving my wife's Subaru. Not a lot of waves in return when I'm in the Subaru, but I'll get an occasional wave in the 8.
