Talking 18x10 Be Here on Friday

Well just ordered my new wheels for the 8. I ordered KMC GTX in Time Attack Colors in the 18x10 +48 flavor. Now I'm just tryin to decide between a 3mm or 5mm spacer.

When I get paid again here in about 2 weeks, I'll be ordering my 265/35/18 Dunlops.

I'M SO STOKED!!!!!

I could of gotten them in polished, or black w/ polished lip, but I thought the time attack scheme fit the car better, especially with the two tone red/black interior.

i have 18x10.5" +43, so you should be good with the 5mm spacer. they'll be flush and have plenty of back-space too.

Because with the +48 offset, the wheel will be too close to the coil spring. The 5mm spacer just gives me a little more room.

You shouldn't need spacers to fit. I have 10.5 +43 offset and they fit fine...yours should be very close to that. There is about 10mm room on the rears...and more on the front on mine

Do they offer the wheel in a +40 or +43 offset?

Dan, could you send me some pics of your wheels? I'd like to see how they fit in the fender so well. I'm thinking of 18x10's all the way around, I just wanted to get an idea.

I'm not sure. I actually found these looking for an 18x10 and it shows that its made for a Ford truck with a 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern.

I thought the widest wheel we could fit on the rx-8 that is flush with the fender is the Enkei rpf1 18x9.5 with +45mm offset.

Nuke, dan, and team all run 10.5" wide wheels.

The Koni Challenge Cars run 11" wide up front and 13" wide in the rear.

And some people on here have run 11" wide

Now here is a debate.

I either take my current 225/45/18 Exclaim's and put em on these wheels for the time being, and save up for a set of RT615s in 265/35/18s

OR

buy a cheap set of dunlop 8000Es and run those and then get the RT615s next spring

The stretch is very minimal.

Wheels are mounted and put them on some 245/40s. Looks good and doesn't rub even without spacers. I put 5mm spacers on just for a little extra comfort. I may even run some 10mm spacers to put em out even further.
