Anyone modify the stock wheels to 9.5" wide?

I am thinking about making the OEM wheels 9.5" wide.

I kinda like the stealthy look.

Anyone else try this yet?

You simply cut them in half and weld in the difference.

Example: Stock wheel on the right, modified on the left.

Yes, a wider wheel/tire will add weight but it's worth it!

if it wasnt gonna be so expensive :X

with the added weight, it would be more worth it for me to get a set of rpf1's that are 9.5 but this is an awesome idea on its own IMHO
i wonder how much this thing would cost though...

I was running a set of black rpf1's last summer and they attracted too much attention.

This is why I need the sleeper look without having to run skinny tires.

The wheels in the pics above cost $200/ea to have modified.

too much attention, WTF with rims? you better not be street racing....i honestly do see why you would have to sell your RIMS especially over too much attention

Cops are pretty bad about profiling here.

They never bug me when I have my winter wheels on.

exactly what i was thinking.
wouldn't this result in essentially no change in offset? giving all the added width towards the inner side of the rim? unless you're planning to run spacers..

Just avoid blinged out or race track looking wheels and the cops will not bother you. Have you looked around for wider wheels that look similar to stock?
