Roll bar, GT CF mirrors, CF Aeor package installed

Sanded down:

RED! (no clear yet):

In!:

Tight fit:

Mirrors/Cage night shot:

Day time, all you can see through the rear wing windows:

Tight fit for me at 6'3" but I got the cage far enough in there that I'm pretty comfortable. Haven't tried it with a helmet yet:

Overall:

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics. I know I'm known for the ultra glam shots but this is just a project update.

More pics later after I put on the CF Aero kit.

I like it, but have you chosen to loose the 4 seater aspect of the car? if so thats fine and I would continue to strip the rear seats and maybe make attatchment points for things like track wheels, helmet, etc etc,,,
But if you were trying to keep the 4 person feature I would hae gone with the MazdaSpeed roll bars,,, But if you did the work nice job and quality finish job, got any closeups of the rear attatchment points with the seats on???

That rear bar comes out and you can get in the back if you want. I rarely use my car to haul people around. As low as my car sits on my tire set up, that would be a painful ride.. Every seam would make me cringe lol. I have a few other cars (and an SUV) so I'll be content with using those to lug around more than 1 passenger.

I have plans for reworking the rear of the car so that with out rear seats it still has a "stock/finished" appearance to it but for now the rear seats will stay. Gives it a cleaner look. That MS bar is really spiffy though and that's the first time I ever seen or heard of it.

As far as the mirrors, go I enjoy those the most, it really set the car off. like with everything else. uniqueness is a big plus for me.

The MS roll bar would not be street legal though right? And I do not think t-rex8's roll bar is legal for rear passengers.

Those mirrors stick out wayyyyyy too for IMO.

That cage would worry me. Rear end collision: Skull + Metal Bar = Paramedics scooping your brain (unless, of course, your are going to drive with a helmet on all the time).

But if it floats your boat then more powwa to ya!

I got the CF aero kit on but to dark to take pics, I'll do so tomorrow before I get busy detailing it (Car will be on Display at a theater about an hr from my home for their FnF4 opening in side the lobby)

The roll bar itself offers no immediate danger that wouldn't occur anyways. I'm not worried, I have raced cars for years and this is the first one that has just a roll bar and isnt fully caged.. wanna talk about safe, add in a Halo and a couple more pillar bars.. I've NEVER heard of anyone dying in a car crash due to their cage and or roll bar, I have however heard of it saving them. (this is personally, I am sure people have died due to head trama from a collision)

I think in my situation, I have a lot more leeway because I have quite a few cars, so if I don't feel safe driving this one or any of my passengers, then I'll take something else. Its really just a gas guzzling toy lol.

As far as the mirrors go, they sit perfect and I can see every bit as clear as I could with oems. I love them, functionable, full cf (decided against the tacky CF mirror caps) and goes along with the Timeattack/GT styling thats carried throughout the theme..

Again its not for everyone, I'm sure the CF aero kit wont be for everyone either, but thats what makes me like it that much more.

Its probably the 6 or 7th event I have been "invited to"/requested. The car has become quite known over here, one cuz its odd, and 2 because there are really no RX8s on any show circuit.

A guy a met from a WireforHonda event which I was a display car for then contacted me about doing the event. I agreed and about a day or 2 later he calls me to tell me they want to use my car as the lobby car so its all good. I get an undisclosed amount of money towards any Regal cinema purchases and a few other spliffs. I woulda done it for free though (or movie tickets) but I wont complain lol.

On Saturday I have a charity show to attend and Sunday is another Mountain run through 49 and probably Hooks bend. So busy weekend. I'll unfortunately miss HIN, but I'm not in the mood to sit around that venue for 3 straight days.. My sponsors replaced me with the N1 Time Attack S2K, a hot car that is now one of the flier vehicles for HIN.

Well picture are two roll bars, the first one that is shown, the one that blocks the rear door is $960 and the second the more accomodating one, is around $1200

Btw is there a doubler under the car where the rollbar bolts to? Other wise I can see a 'bad' wreck just ripping through the sheet metal.
