Anyone with mazsport duel midpipe+straight through muffler?

Hello,

I would like to know if anyone has this combination:

Mazsport midpipe+stright through muffler (either duel or single pipe).

I will be installing turbo kit on my car and since the turbo will muffled the sound a bit and wonder how loud the sound would be with that duel resonated midpipe alone. I will run 3" pipes all the way from mid pipe through the bumper. My goal is to reduce weight that I don't need. If the midpipe tone the noise down to a reasonable level, may be I can eliminate the sub 35 lbs muffler section out.

Thanks for the input.

Ummm i guess it all comes down to what you consider loud....lol. How can someone really answer your question? But i think it shouldnt be too bad , the turbo like you said muffles the tone , dual res mp , and imo straight pipe isnt that loud even without turbo and dual res mp , but i dont know what you consider loud....XD

Hmm....how loud.... loud enough to get cop attention and bothering neighbors. For example, I would consider a HKS hi power with a non resonated midpipe to be loud----like one of MYSQL's video on you tube. I don't think I could hear music or carry on a decent conversation without yelling when I drive.

I also wonder how good the quality of the exhaust sound is. Does it sounds like MS exhaust? A while back I remembered read someone has this set up and that person said it sounds pretty nice. I did search but came up empty.

I'm willing to bet it would loud enough to set off car alarms. Rotary Extreme has a prototype exhaust in the works right now which I think uses straight through mufflers (Benjamanz please correct me if I'm wrong!) and as a cat back system you can hear it coming several blocks away.

I don't think you're going to remove enough weight to make this worth the amount of noise you'll make, and when you factor in the cost of the pipe and the mufflers....

Hello,

Now the set up on the Rotary Extreme exhaust, does it runs off from stock cat? Or is it run off from the header with a non-resonated pipes?

To my knowledge Mazsport midpipe has two large resonator sections that did a fine job of calming the noise down. If no one has this set up I might remove my exhaust(muffler and B-pipe after mid pipe section) out and just leave the midpipe in there by itself to see how loud it is.

I think its going to be pretty loud , and without resonators its freakin loud , how do i know? Cause i tried it before , straight pipe , no mufflers , catless no resonators lol. I dont know where you come from , but in california everything gets cops attention , even if u have a stock exhaust with modified tips , they will think its aftermarket. Let alone if it makes any noise. But hey , it depends on the cop , and if hes in a bitchy mood or not .

I have the midpipe you speak of in combination with the hks dual muffler exhuast... the sound is great and not obnoxious. It is also coupled with the Racing Beat header so it would be even quiter if the stock mani was on there.

You can also gut your stock cat and it has a decent sound a little loud and restricts the air flow a bit but it allows you to have a less restricting mid pipe. The stock midpipe is resonated if you look close to the rear of the midpipe.

that is just my 2cents
