Royal Purple

Just because I dug for this and couldn't easily find it. I'm sure it has been listed, but it is probably burried somewhere 48 pages into a 150 page thread.

http://www.royalpurple.com/faqs-rotary.html
There is the link for Royalpurple telling you to use their oil and it is not only ok, but GREAT! Also print it out so when "Mazda of crappy city name" says you voided your warranty for using synthetic.

Just tried to put this up because every third thread asks about royal purple.

I use Royal Purple in my Tranny/Differentials, never thought about engine oil. Didn't even know they make it.

I've been using RP (5w30) as my engine oil for awhile... no problems.

Next oil change I will give it a shot then. I will have to order it online since I was lucky to even find the 4 bottles of RP at autozone.

If you have a Kragen out that way, they carry it (or at the least can get it ordered for you) Murray's on the east coast was where I got it out that way. (I just hate ordering stuff online, keep the locals in busines is always better)

Another good oil thats up there with RP is Motul or Total. The FIA road racers uses it in their race cars. If its good enough for them, it's good enough for me.

I've been using RP 5w20 for 20K miles now, and all is good. I order mine online from americanmuscle.com, free shipping and no tax with me being in fl. Was cheapest @ $7/qt for a while, but they recently raised it to $8 so not sure if it still is.

Do they use it?

....or just have a sticker on their car?

They also advertise Red Bull, but there's no guarantee they put it in the sump.

^ Versus Royal Purples claim that the race drivers ACTUALLY use the stuff.

this link is found in one of the oil threads that RotaryGod posted a while ago. In fact I just posted it in a thread yesterday.

My first motor saw nothing but synthetic and failed at 22k. My second motor has 77k on it and has seen nothing but Castrol GTX 10W30. But I can only speak of my own experience. I'm sure some of the "experts' will chime in.

And I have had 3 engines replaced, in 50K, and the dealer has done all my oil changes with ...... conventional oil.
