I put my car away at the end of last september when the insurance expired for the winter. It was over 50 degrees this morning in Chicago so I pulled it out, got it started for the first time since September and took a couple quick pics.

The car was far from show condition, its dirty and dusty and theres adhesive on the front bumper from the emblem Im painting lol, but whatever it was a nice morning and I wanted some pics.

The CF air duct looks alright, but will look much better when you add some more CF. And what is up with the Mazda symbol? Need to get the front repainted?

Honestly, at first when i saw Deedubb get the cf vent on the front bumper i wasn't a real fan - but now it's really starting to grow on me - it'll look even better with a cf lip kit (say burnout lip kit)

I store mine too... a lot of us in Iowa/midwest do. Unless you invest in snow tires, it's pretty hard to drive in the snow. I also have another vehicle I can drive in the winter and not worry about someone sliding into my 8 I still go out into my garage during the winter and start her up, talk to her, dust her off

 

how was it to start for the first time? Was it beeing difficult or did she fire right up?

 

needless to say, the battery was dead even after being in my closet for 4 months .

Started right up, no hesitation. THe 'crank' sound from the starter was a little slower than normal.

However the car was stalling out at stop signs when I took it for a spin around the block. When I got back I cleaned the MAF sensor, reset the ECU, and found an ignition wire that was slightly popped out, and I also still need to cap a vac line from when I installed the ram air duct.

Im really excited to get full coverage back on it and start driving it again

 

use some goo gone to get ride of the double sided tape from the emblem.

Hey man you know winter is not over yet ? Just cause we had 60 the other day does'nt mean is over . I'm still waiting till April to pull mine 's out . (car that is) . March is a month you never know what to expect.

 

lol, yea I know. I might start driving it again on the warmer days now and hitch a ride on the snow days. My DD that I was using actually belongs to the GF and our schedules are starting to conflict so that situation isnt exactly working out anymore

I just wish I could figure out why it wont stay running though

I havent reset the ECU yet so Im really hoping thats the reason.
