The new "member's rides" photo heading at the top of the home page doesn't seem to be such a great idea...most pics seem to be either vendor or skank related

Seriously, is seems like a bunch of quasi spam and doesn't add to what is a great forum.

i don't know what you are talking about. there are some quality pics up there. way better than the "here's my shitty cell phone pics, i'll post more when i get a real camera" type of pics people usually post in the multimedia section.

 

Its actually a nice addition to what is a rather mundane site..

If ya don't like it I think one should simply minimize it.Because of it I have seen many cars of people for whom I had previously no knowledge of what their cars looked like. Its like putting faces to names. This is the RX8 forum, not the Buggati Veyron forums, lets not humor the rest of the automotive crowd with any inclination that something so minor would "cheapen" the site..

 

i like it ...the idea that i can log on and see a pic of my car and every one elses car and ideas is kinda cool...just my 2 cents.

I think more of my photos should show up in it. That's my big problem with it.

 

as long as it's only showing pictures of member's RX-8's (and related mods) then I'm okay with it. I have it minnimized most of the time though

 

Yeah. It's kinda silly to see a "members ride" section, and then have someones newborn kid complete with umbilical cord show up on it.

How many horsepower does that baby get anyways? I hear they have really bad emissions.

 

^I think you guys are getting my point...pics of RX8's are very cool (although the overly staged are kind of silly), but pets, kids, vendor's wares, professional skank and the other assorted bs is a waste of bandwidth and lame.

An option to choose what photos would show up on the front page would be the sensible solution. I'm not sure if that's a practical solution though.

I aggree with everyone who is protesting the other random a** s*** thats up there, I dont come on here to see lolcats and peoples kids and such, I come on here to see 8s, if I want to see **** I go to another site, if I want to see family albums I go to Myspace, etc etc,
The 7 guys dont seem to have this problem, every time I go on that site all I see is 7 related media... Regarless of what the title says(members rides or members gallery) it should only be 8s...

 

I think we need an option to flag pictures. I don't mind the chick photos since we do have a thread dedicated to that so naturally some people will have this in their gallery but the cats have to go...
