My friend installed his AP Exhaust and the bottom of the tips are touching the exhaust shroud.
How can we fix this before it melts his shroud?

are any of the bracket's bent so that it's holding the exhaust up?

Check the hangers.
Mine are close to touching... little tolerance allowed.

1 inch is the best clearance. Need min. 1/2"

As soon as you track it or drive hard you will touch the shroud either way and melt it.

I've melted the shroud using the Racing Beat.

Push it hard and do a spin on the track or jerk it to the right or left in Autocross
it will melt.

Best thing to do is to buy those aluminum inserts or go to the hardware store and buy some black neoprene/rubber and glue it on the inside

 

Man I told you about this fitment on the AP exhaust. Give Brice from FluidMotorsports a call, he claims he has it on his car without any fitment issues.

 

Its not a bid deal really I mean even mike melted his and mine are going too. Hell I parts of my back bumper are black not blue but I really think its the exhaust hanger. Let me see what happens and get back to you.

 

Bang that hanger with a mallet until you get the correct positioning.
