foam in oil?
I had the oil changed today in my 05 rx-8 and the guys at the garage said there was a lot of foam in the oil/engine. Is that normal? They recommended to get it changed again in 1000 miles. I hope everything is okay lol

The foam in the oil is a very rare infection of the rotor apex seals, you need to get to your local dealership, they'll prescribe you some antibiotics which you'll need to add into your tank at every fill-up for 10 fill-ups. If after that, you're still getting the foam, then you'll have to take it in for surgery to swap the rotors for pistons.

Tell the guys at the garage that they are all idiots.
(and yeah. I wasted forum space too. I'm not gonna' lose any sleep over it, though. Maybe nycgps will, though. Here's to hopin'!

As opposed to your post that fully enlightened the community with your ever-consistent advice to "search"... Thank you for wasting additional forum server space & bandwith with your repeated advice...

I just got mine
, they also replaced my cracked engine mount and replaced my heating controls under warranty
.
Hold on, everyone.
The usual complaint is foam on the dipstick, not "a lot of foam in the oil/engine."
Michael - just what did the guys at the garage see? Was it foam on the dipstick, as described in the TSB? Or something bigger? Not that I'd know what to do if it was something bigger, but in that event it shouldn't be dismissed as a cosmetic issue.
