For those who lowered your 8...READ

Hey everyone! I'm looking to lower my 8 as soon as I get money again. So I have a few questions to everyone that lowered their 8. If you could answer these for me you would be helping me so much.

1. How much do you lower it?
2. Did it effect your performance / handling?
3. How bad do speed bumps suck? Is it a total bitch or is it doable.
4. How much did you pay for whatever you used to lower your car?
5. If you have a picture of your lowered car, please show me.

The reason I have so many questions is because my parents are all against me lowering my car because they think it will "scratch the bottom of the car" and "screw up the handling." So I want to hear from people who actually did it because I really want to do it, I think it looks amazing. Thanks so much!

well first i just had tien s tech springs installed on the stock shocks and those cost around $180

but then the ride was beginning to feel really bouncy and not so good so i switched out to coilovers. they are pretty pricey though.

I'll find the sticky. Thanks so much for the help though, excluding you two. I had a few specific questions. This forum is for people that have questions that need answers. And I wanted to see a few examples. Don't get so butt hurt over a frikken' internet forum. It shouldn't ruin YOUR day that someone else wasn't ignorant like you and actually decided to help.

Thanks again, sorry if that came off dick. I just wish you people wouldn't get so upset when someone answers questions.

I think I'm good. I might just go with new springs to drop it a little more than an inch. Then get the coil overs when I can afford them. Both of your cars look great by the way.

All this info can be found searching the board. Look for threads starting with Calling All. Tons of pics on wheels, car colors, springs or something that has to do with people posting pics of their car.

Tell your parents there is a significant difference between a slammed car and a lowered car. Up to you to relay the difference and describe what you really want.

Gorgeous car, wow. How much did you pay for your drop? And where did you get those CF splitters?! haha

Lowering the car is supposed to mess up roll geometry and thus hampering performance. You guys who have noted increased performance are probably feeling the stiffness of the new shocks which do increase performance. If you had just changed suspension without the drop the performance gain would be even greater.

I have personally noted a very strong performance increase by putting -2 degrees camber back and -1.5 degrees camber front. I can go on the gas much earlier in the turns on the track with that setup. I keep the car stock height.
