Yet Another Oil Thread
Yes, I've searched, and spent hours reading threads about oil. I have a plan and would like to know what you guys think.
My car currently only has 6,000 miles on it. I have my oil changed at the dealership about every 2,000 miles and plan to continue to do so, and I don't even want to bring up 5w30 in case they want to give me any grief over the warranty.
Instead of coming home from the dealership and doing another oil change myself, my plan is to use Idemitsu racing rotary oil to top off with, and--more importantly--use the Idemitsu premix every time I fill up.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

Yeah, I'd say do it yourself. Just keep your receipts, you'll be OK. I took it to the stealership once to do an oil change...then I did it once myself. I don't see why I would not do it myself, it's so easy!
Plus, you get to use your own oil.

Well, since I want to change the oil every 2,000 miles that's a possibility, especially since the oil change sticker the dealership put on seems to indicate that it should be changed every 5, 000 miles(!).
yeah, which is NOT what you want to do with this car. I bought 2 boxes of oil for my car and a few K&N oil filters so I haven't had to pay for an oil change since my first free one from the dealership.
