Really? A Blow-off valve works by pressure differentials, not transmissions

well I have to provide all the parts and things like that, since there is no shop anymore because Chuck went back to Taiwan to do personal things. But Ben outrageously charge me only $400 for labor plus shop rental because he is really nice and really cool with me. There is no shop i know charge that price, anywhere is around 800-1000. but the parts including the turbo you are looking about roughly 5500 dollar, Turbo, gauges, pods, boost controller. engine gasket. did I miss anything else?

you also have to buy Cobb from MM, Yeah when you have all the parts and ready to install. Then you can talk to Ben for it. even though he charge fof cheap price but when I get all m parts, I will pay more then the price he offer just because he is cool and he know the stuff. I rather pay more to the people who know things and I would say Ben are one of the best in the Bay

I'm going to throw this wrench into the mix.
For us 4 port owners AT/MT The 3071r that MM supplys dosent reach it peak efficency until after 7500 rpm.

Just a thought.

However I agree it's a much better turbo than the Mitsu snail that the Greddy kit uses. The greddy kit was built on a 4 port motor btw.

Are you saying that Mitsu snail haha, give more torque than 3071R under 7500 rpm? Is it because its a bigger turbine? what makes you think that? What I really want is Torque on lower rpm. I think it produce peak torque around 5000rpm.
I dont really care about high rpm. since our trans aren't made for that high speed turning. But it can hold above 300BHP(RE-Amemyia said it.) But the problem he said is that You have to manually shift if you are running high HP and each time you shift, let go the gas pedal and wait couple second before shift to next gear or down gear, so that the band will not slip.

what is 300bhp=???hp, none of us have reach that high, so I will be the first lab rat. hehe But another concern is that 4 speed will reach high rpm so fast since its not 6speed. if my tran broke during the test(knock on wood), i just sent it to Level 10 and have them beef it up.

I'm not saying that at all. The peak efficiency of the Greddy turbo is under the mazda imposed rev limit of 7500 to 8k rpm. It craps out around this range.

The Garrett 3071r's efficiency is at the nearer to the 9k rpm range.
look at the following post by MM.
https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php...9&postcount=81

if anything the Garrett will make more tq at any given boost psi because it flows more air per psi.

All i was trying to point out is that the Garrett doesn't get used to it full potential on our 4 ports at the 7500 rpm limit.

But it can hold above 300BHP(RE-Amemyia said it.) But the problem he said is that You have to manually shift if you are running high HP and each time you shift, let go the gas pedal and wait couple second before shift to next gear or down gear, so that the band will not slip.
Amemyia-san is wise young padawan.

Cool, thx 09 factor, that is another very educational lesson.
Did the turbo makes a big difference from NA to 5psi turbo, interns response of the power and overall performance.
I want to get an idea how my will feel when my get my turbo install.

It did make a differance, but it's more "feelable" @ 9psi.
