Anyone know how to change the brake fluid? I'm looking to change mine tomorrow but not sure exactly how to change it? And if so what kinda break fluid should I use?

I believe there is a DIY for this, brb

 

Use DOT 3 or 4 DO NOT USE DOT 5 OR HIGHER YOU WILL RUIN YOUR SEALS IN ALL UR BRAKING COMPONENTS!

To change it pressure bleeding is of course the easiest but unless u have a pressure bleeder you can't do it so most likely you will b doing it manually but you will need an assistant to pump the pedal.....

first the car needs jack up starting with the passenger rear have somone pump up the brakes (with key inoff position or not even in car) open bleeder valve and have assistant hold pedal down while u open....wait till clear/clean fluid comes(prob will have to close valve a couple times and pump it up a few times DO NOT LET BRAKE FLUID RESIVOIR RUN DRY KEEP ADDING NEW) then after passenger rear is done move to driver rear, pass front, and driver front...doing the same process search around i'm sure there is a step by step better DIY

I swapped out the brake fluid on mine recently and used Castrol LMA. There's a few other brands out there that are popular such as Motul but unless you're going to the track often, you don't really need it.

 

haha You taught me well JEDI seeing how you help everyone!!!! haha....yeah that's a quick rundown like i said search for the DIY if you need more in depth or PM me or JEDI can help....I think the wheels to do may b differnt but without a service manual it's hard to tell so if you don't know (for future reference for any vehicle) always start with the farthest wheel away from the master cylinder and work ur way to the closest....

remember that when working with brake fluid, it's best not to let it come into contact with your skin.
Latex gloves are your friend

 

Brake fluid dries your skin out so fast...I've had the displeasure of having it happen.

 

brake fluid also EATS PAINT LIKE NO OTHER so be careful with the stuff

Instead of Latex gloves go with Nitrile Gloves. They are more resistant to solvents and chemicals plus they don't tear easily.
