Who All got an 8 Xmas presents??

So post up for those of us that got new presents for our 8's. Anything complicated maybe we can do a WARM garage install meet or something.

I got the Audio Link that plugs into the CD changer. Anyone taken apart their dash before? I haven't done it YET and anyone that has willing to lend a hand would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

Happy New Year you crazy 8 owners

I'll give ya a hand... there's a great tutorial in the DIY section on how to disassemble the dash... quite literally picture by picture... think it's in the DYI mp2 adapter thread...

Tip to make the removal go EASY -

lift the shifter surround,
undo the ashtray,
you'll see 4 screws - only the middle two need to come out,
pull the radio assembly out about two inches (that's as far as it wants to come easily)
then undo the two screws on the vent above the radio and remove it.
This lets you get behind the radio to undo connectors.

The radio removal can be really hard if you can't get behind.....

nice present marc. im getting one of those as soon as i can spare the money. im curious to see how it all installs. i have a heated garage if you need a place to do the install. I haven't done one yet, but im pretty familiar with mazda dashes and you know my access to information. even if you have a place closer to you for the install i should still like to tag along. like i said, im very interested in that product.

i didnt get anything for my 8. a few bucks from my grandfather towards my suspension after the winters over...if that counts.

Greg

I know I'm late Chris. I'm still looking for a reasonably priced 787B too.

So far I have...
- 1:18 LY to match my car on my desk.
- 1:18 LM RX-8
- 1:43 LY at work on top of my computer tower.
- 1:64 keychain hanging off my cubicle wall.
- 1:24 Transformers "Meister" model, which is a Mazdaspeed RX-8

What I'd like is an LY MS model. That'd be nice :D

Thx bro!! I have read that one along with this one http://whatsmyip.org/ipodrx8/ Seems like the only prob. is the one bolt you can't see. Do you have a warm, lighted garage?

Nice Sanguine!! You should come and we can do them to. Talk to footman, he did his, he has small little asian hands/arms which makes it easier I hear lol.

Thx Greg! Thx for the offer for the heated garage as well, only prob is you are kinda far and would rather try and do it closer. I do really appreciate the offer tho!! Of course u are welcome to tag along, least you would help, not like Thief who stands around and smokes butts!!
The money is a start suspension install this spring?!?! U gonna do it yourself right?

lol. Do we all have that rx8 model in race colours?

I got some BHR coils. Not really a gift. Just coincidental timing.

Yeahhhh... no MS... too much money to drop on that... they don't make it in tiG anymore so I'd have to buy a white or silver and then paint it afterward.. so by the time everything's said and done the price is just too high. I got the OEM for 130 bucks so.. yeah.. at least the back won't look quite so naked now. In a year or two I'll most likely get the MS wing.... and front.... and sides....

Nawh.. I won't be installing it myself. My general guidlines dictate that "thou shall not drill holes into metal". Plus I have a scrap along the bottom of the passenger side of my car... need that to get primed over and then have the rear aero flares installed over top.. might as well have the shop do it all at the same time.
