Interest in Charles R. Hill coming up for installation during 1/17/09 Dyno weekend

Hi folks,

I've been PMing with Charles R. Hill (Ray) and if there is interest he would be willing to travel up to Seattle with Jeff to perform part installations for people.

He and Jeff collaborate on many projects together and anyone that has worked with him knows his work, customer service, and parts are top notch.

He would be able to perform:

Clutch pedal bracket upgrades -$350 installed. This is a well known problem with the clutch pedal where they break off from the firewall and render the car inoperable. Ray has developed a reinforcement and upgrade for this and will install a new clutch pedal with his upgrade for this price. Search around the forum threads for more info. on this.

ignition coils and plugs (OEM not his upgrade kit as there is currently a wait list) -If you want to purchase OEM coils he can swap them out and also do plugs wires etc. As Jeff pointed out this is the most common problem on dyno days so if people are interested in changing their coils before the event Ray could do this for you.

He could also install:
intakes
exhaust (header, catback, mid-pipe or high flow cat)
sway bars
Brake pad swaps
Other relatively small stuff.

If people have interest in a larger project like Springs/shocks or clutch/flywheel we could probably get him to schedule some additional time while he is in town.

We would pay to fly him up as well so we'd want to have enough people to make the cost reasonable per person.

Please post in this thread what you are interested in and we can get pricing from Ray and if there is enough interest and commitment we can get him a flight up as well the weekend of 1/17/09.

-Shaun

They will both definitely not have to buy a drink themselves all weekend.

but I think we need to give Ray enough business for him to be able to justify the trip.

shaun is just trying to get us all to spend as much money as possible. he's making it way too easy to buy parts.

Well when two of the best and brightest in our community are willing to make the trip up I want to make sure I want to make sure as many people as possible can get in on the deal.

BTW - I emailed Faille (the guy with the FD that we single turboed). Him and Ray are buds; he might get in on it.

I'll let you know.

i agree. it's a great opportunity but with all the xmas presents that my car is getting already it's hard to justify more even if we have the pros in house. now if you or kris or anyone else want to sell me some nice cheap used parts then maybe i'll bite. maybe some sways?

I would assume that he is only gonna make the trip if he can get some verified customers for installations and parts.

So, if you guys want this, start your post-Xmas shopping spree!

I'd love to see a nitrous install in person and ride in a nitrous car.

Just to reiterate this is for anyone out there looking to have some quality work done on their car and doesn't know where to take it. You don't have to be involved in the dyno day to schedule some work with Ray. Ray is the man is willing to come up if we can send him enough work to make it worth his time.

Man... why did you have to do this in January? Feb. or March and I'd be all over it.

How about some muffler bearings? Or some power steering flushes......Anything else that is fast and will allow maximum profit without interfering with the beer drinking and socializing

I would go for a hotter cam or maybe a flux capacitor.
