Hello everyone, thanks to everyone for doing such a great job on this website, you guys are awesome! I have a 2005 rx8 with about 60k miles. O have 2 problems, hopefully someone can help me out with those.

1. i noticed once in a while that the middle console gets hot and I think it's when the car is on neutral, anyone noticed such a thing?

2. After beeing on neutral for almost an hour today, I tried to rev the car up to 7k rpm while driving and I heard clicking noise with a little loss of power. This is the first time I noticed this and i wonder what i should do... I am about due for the 60k maintenance and my dealer always tries to rob me so i don't want him to just fix the problem and charge me a fortune for it...

Thanks for your help guys, I wish there was some ways for repaying for this...lol BTW What can you recommend for the 60k maintenance, should i follow Mazda's recommendations?

 

1. Normal.....check your CAT though.....

2. could be almost anything...likely nothing

 

maybee a sticking secondary intake valve thingee

 

neutral for an hour?

 

^^thats what i was thinking....not good at all. did the idle become erratic or are you noticing any engine missing?
