Anyone know of the smallest tire and rim package out there for the 8.

I am putting on 17 inch winter tires but I can't find 17 inch rims that will freakin fit...they wont clear the calipers!!! So, can anyone share their 17 inch rim specs...and I am just looking for steelies...thanks guys.....end rant...and I have declared war on Canadian Tire....

17 inch will clear the calipers, you sure your not trying 16. 17 is the smalleest you can go with the north american 8s.

dont go to canadian tire, bunch of highschool kids that work there. if your in the gta, give scarborough mazda a call, if not look at ordering online, if not kijiji/craigslist.

17" steelies do fit. i have had mine on for a week +. Ive also installed many 17" snow tire packages on rx8s so far this season. they fit. just go to your local mazda dealer for the rims...guess the canadian tire crap doesnt have the right backspacing to clear the calipers.

We have put 4 sets of 17X6.5 steel rim and 225/50VR17 Michelin PA3 winter packages on RX8's this year, they definately fit. We cant any more Michelins or steels rims right now, the only thing we have left are 17 inch alloys with Blizzak LM22's.

Who is this 01Racing? Why do you think you know so much about Rotaries and mazdas in general noob

And yeah, some more specs, you need a 50mm+ offset roughly too. Mine is 45mm+

I just got the 17steelies from Can tire no problems! But didn't buy the tires from them, got my tires from Tire rack and went to the states to pick them up. SO much cheaper.
