Sorry but I am confused on this. I was told that all 2004 Mazda audio systems would be Sirius ready but I don't see anything about it when I look at the info for the RX-8 on the MazdaUSA website.

I see people here who have done the aftermarket add on for satellite radio so this is what is confusing me. The audio system on the 2004 Miata that I drove last week had a SAT button on the stock head unit so it should only need to be enabled from Sirius but I do not see a SAT button on the RX-8 head unit.

No, it's not.

 

I guess Mazda decided to make the other models Sirius ready after they had already decided on the audio system for the RX-8.
