New in Oakville
Hi Folks,
I picked up an 06 Titanium(?) Grey AT a couple of weeks ago and the daily commute to hamilton has since gotten a lot more fun! (used to drive a jetta
.
Really enjoying the car so far (getting lot's of second looks and compliments) but am starting to hear the brakes in my sleep, will hopefully get them fixed next week (this week was the engine mounts
. Anybody got recommendations on something I can pick up locally to protect the leather seats? I managed to resist the dealers $400 leather-protector insurance (but not much else
.
This is a great site, looking forward to meeting you guys at the next get together.

I use Lexol cleaner and conditioner. This is recommended by Gyrobot over in the BC RX-8 club. I met up with him in Vancouver this summer and he showed me what it could do.
You can't find it in retail stores here. You'd have to go to Lexol's website, and order direct online from them. I've used it twice now (I clean leather 4 times a year). I highly recommend it. It's better than Meguiars Rich Leather shampoo/conditioner 2-in-1. The Lexol is two separate bottles of stuff. You do a little more work, but the results are better. It will leave your car looking like factory OEM, meaning a more "matte" finish. If you like that glossy, "I had too much oily chinese food in my car" look, then go for the Meguairs stuff.

Hi GTA/Oakville RX8 folks..
I picked up my 2007 RX8 (with 100 km on it) last week after reading the car's pros and cons on the forum. I enjoy every time I have a chance to drive it. It looks like there are quite a few RX8's in Oakville based on the GTA roll call list. But so far I have only been able to spot a RED one on the road while driving around Oakville. The RX8 is a car that stands out and often get a second look by others among all other sport cars (Bimmers, Porsche, Mercedes and Mustang) often found on the road in the Oakville area.
I look forward to seeing the other RX8 in the area and may get a chance to meet some of you.
