shooting flames without a "flamethrower" kit is always way cool.

super noob question here, but if you don't have a cat, do flames in the exhaust really harm the car? Also, I read that even the stock 8 with original cat and exhaust can actually shoot flames sometimes... sounds crazy, is that possible?

I could be wrong, but I dont think the flames go through the whole exhaust if you will. The Flames are excess (sp?) fuel igniting. So what I am tring to say is that the flames only start at the exhust tips, not throught out the whole exhaust. If you are able to understand my horrible explanation

dumping fuel all over the cat to make flames can shorten it's lifespan.

otherwise, the flames are pretty harmless. Though you might singe your rear bumper.

I do believe that makes sense. The excess fuel isn't going to ignite till it gets to a place with an abundance of oxygen. It didn't ignite in the engine; otherwise it wouldn't be excess fuel in the first place, so it won't ignite in the exhaust either till it gets to the tips where there's tons of fresh air waiting outside. The tips are more than hot enough to cause the final ignition, too, or the fuel is still hot enough when it gets to the tips. That all makes sense thanks for the explanation guys!
