President Bush visits my job

I work on Governors Island here in NYC. Its an island just off the southern tip of lower manhattan/wall street/financial district. The island is open to the public on Fri/Sat and Sunday.

He came to the island to discuss some topics with world dignitaries since the UN is in session. Here are some pics

I got about 700 pics but those are just a few linked to my myspace. www.myspace.com/nycrotaryrocket

Whether you agree with the/any President or not, it is a great opportunity to see one. I got to see G.H. Bush as he drove by in the presidential limo.

Actually i almost got shot last year. He always lands at the south street heliport which is right next to FDR drive and the Governors island ferry terminal. He was passing by and i pointed him out to my friend (whose not from this country) and right behind was a suburban with guns sticking out of every window. In the hatch was a guy laying down with a gun pointed squared at my head lol, i froze up. But i survived!

Ah yes, Marine 1. I live 8 miles from the White House, so that's a frequent sight, that and all the security.

Bush spoke at my college graduation, then a month later I saw Bill Clinton give an address. Certainly very cool! It is great that our presidents are out and about all the time.

Cool, Jason! Seeing a President—even a dangerous, dishonest, embarrassingly incompetent one—would be pretty exciting. Good for you.
