i have been having problems when ever i pull out of my parking lot i go in reverse for like 2 secs than when i put my shifter in 1st gear and turn right i head a thump kinda noise when i press on the gas any idea what that could be

is it normal.. thanks guys

 

ABS check. Normal.

 

Sounds like the ABS check to me. It's AOK.

When you back up the ABS does a diagnostic check. It actives and pulses. Sometimes it sounds like a grinding, sometimes it sounds like a thump from the front wheels.

Duh! But actually when I bought my car the salesman told me something was wrong with the car when it did that. I for some reason instinctively didn't believe this since everything else was perfect. Guess I was right.

 

Ya, I have the same thing with my car. It happens for me at exactly 4 mph in either reverse or drive. Anyways, I brought it to the dealership to have it logged and checked and they said the same thing; that it was the ABS doing a self check. Hope that helps!
