So your PTT button is busted... take apart and check connectors, repeated use from wear and tear could easily break things.
BTW, how's my car doing? They looked or perhaps Scarboro mazda have looked at my engine mounts yet? It's the excessive vibration issue I was talkinga bout that wasn't there before.

To ensure best electrical conductivity, wrap bare copper wire around the outer connector and ground that to the chassis. You need to sand down the chassis painted part to a shiny bare metal. Attach with hose clamps on both ends.
I suspect somehow there is potential build up at the connector, the earpiece headphone is simply a two-wire voltage signal. A source voltage and a return path (like + and - on a battery).
To illustrate what's happening now, normally the - side is at 0V potential, and the plus side is like 1V, so the difference is a 1.0V...
but if the - side develops a potential due to some leakage or induction, it maybe at 0.6V. In this case, the output signal is still 1V on the + side, so 1 - 0.6 = 0.4V.
Your earpiece will see 0.4V only (hence the lowered volume). Hooking up a ground strap to that connector to tie it to the frame potential, will take that 0.4V back to 0V so you will have a full 1.0V reference.
This is just an illustration of concept, I don't have the full specifications and wiring schematics of the setup.

We determined that the transmitter and receiver "radio links" were functioning correctly. Another option you can consider is to add an external headphone amplifier to sit between the earpiece and the signal wires. This will boost the signal to however loud you want it to using a separate DC powered source.
Ontario CRDA-GTB class
The Ontario GT Sprints represent a true open GT interseries. Cars are scored in GT1, GTA, GTB, GTC and GTD brackets according to lap time, and run three twenty-minute races per weekend. As in international endurance racing, all four classes run simultaneously while being scored for their respective classes. The sprints accomodate a wide variety of cars based on series-produced models, including tubeframed 'silhouette' cars and stockers. Tire choices and modifications are open, reducing cost for several 'run-what-you-brung' competitors, and drivers also share cars to split costs, partiularly in the open endurance races which dot the calendar.
The one on Sudnay is British Empire Motor Club INC. 54th Annual Indian Summer Trophy Race.
