MS CAI - little help plz!!!
Hi guys,
Well I picked up my MS CAI last night off of Thunder (thx thunder, sweet ride btw), but unfortunately it is missing some hardware. I'm not sure what all nuts and bolts and what not is suppose to come with it. How many of each, sizes etc. There is a metal bracket as well with two bolts thru it and seems it is missing the nuts and clamping piece (circled in picture).
Everything else seems in tacked and ready to go.
I can't find jack on this CAI, install instructions, all the parts etc.
Anyone know where I can pick this hardware up?

Go to the AEM website, and download the installation instructions for the AEM CAI for Mazda RX-8. The two are identical units.
Each of those large metal clamps on the side near the screw tightener are written with a size number "i.e. size 60"
You should have something in these quantities
1 x size 48
1 x size 56
8 x size 60.

that just looks like a regular clamp, you cab find the install instructions on the aem site, or make a request under the tech help sub forum, they used to be on rosenthal's finishline forum, but after their site revamp, no longer there, or might be, haven't checked in ages, google finishline mazda or rosenthal mazda.

That part is not an original part of the CAI. It must have been used as a N-rigged solution to clamp some other part together. You can probably replace that with another hose clamp from home depot.
Thunder just gave me everything in a box and that was in it. if that's all it is then ya easy fix. Are there screws to attached the sensor? or do you get that off the original?
Oh...and I think I'm missing the bolt/s to attach the filter pipe to the car

there are two bolts for the filter pipe to attach onto the car. The bolt just needs to be semi-threaded on the end.
The bolt head side is facing the engine bay and sticks out towards the front in this order...
1) bolt head
2) flat washer
3) metal body frame of car
4) cylindrical support with hole in the middle (two came with kit)
5) filter pipe attachment (the metal sideways U thing that sticks out)
6) flat washer
7) nut
The bolt size is such that it just needs to clear the bodyframe and the inside of the cylindrical support with ease. I'd stick with a metric size bolt to keep everything metric in your car.
As for the MAF SENSOR screws. The MSCAI uses SAE instead of metric. My theory is that since it's actually a rebranded AEM, and AEM is an American company, they didn't bother to change the screws.
If you want to use the exact ones tht came with the MS CAI, it is a 9/64" hex screw.
