Shinka or not?

Hi

I am new to the forums and am planning to pick up my first RX8 after being enthralled with them since before their debut. I was test driving one in my hometown and it was a Shinka RX8. When I was driving it, it felt awesome. I pose 2 questions:

1. Even with an upgraded suspension, is the driving still almost identical?

2. Is it a real shinka??? My friend and I were trying to see if it was or not.

Thanks.

That's definitely the shinka.... and correct me if i'm wrong but the shinka does not have upgraded suspension.. i believe it is tweaked for a sportier ride.. but it shouldn't be all that different.. you basically get a lot of shinka marked things in the 8 and the interior trim only comes in that color for the shinka

I'm pretty sure Shinkas come with Bilstein shocks and foam filled crossmember. How much of a difference that makes I dunno.

1. Suspension is upgraded from 12' to 14' shocks IIRC and the difference I wouldn't be able to tell you because all my friends have aftermarket suspension and feels the same as mine.

2.That's a 2006 black shinka alright, pretty rare. You can tell by the alcantara interior and dark silver rims, silver brake calipers, silver painted tailights and headlights.

Looks like mine but mines Copper Red.

the shinka's have 14mm dampers vs. the 12mm in the other models...

To Shinka or not to Shinka. That is the question.
Whether it is nobler in the driving to own a Shinka, or to suffer the shocks and sway of non Shinka.

Thanks guys for the info.

I didn't notice the subtleties in the trim. The one thing I was unsure about was the inconsistency in the seats from tan to a pattern, along with the exterior paint not looking completely awesome with the flake paint.

If it is approximately the same drive with only minor differences, I am going to be so excited when I get mine.

You shouldn't be able to notice a difference.

I have driven my friend's 2005 Shinka as well, and it felt identical to my 2005 GT until he got new tires (with dramatically stiffer sidewalls)
