Top Gear's Hammond buys castle

Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond, who became even more popular after his high-speed crash, has bought a castle in Hertfordshire. The castle, with six rooms and a pool, costed €2.5 million. Less than a month ago, both Hammond and colleague James May got a wage increase from the BBC.

I never heard that they settled there contract dispute. It's good to hear they have.
A castle, is this due to his short complex?

Man, you don't get a much more ridiculous purchase than a castle. I mean, really - an entire CASTLE?!

If I had one, I'd be setting up catapults and trebuchets all over with a moat full of sharks. Possibly with laser beams on their heads.

Well he needs a place to store all his cars. A castle would totally be cool. I would love to own one.

^ What about dogs with killer bees in their mouths, and every time they barked killer bees shot out at you?

Without a dount If I had the kind of money to, I would buy a castle, LOOOONNNNGGGG before many other things. In Fact, If I could afford a house from the $2-$4m range it would be masonery bearing(castle with real stone walls).

You have real Gargoyles. You are so lucky.. But never forget that nothing works better with a peice of wood with a nail in it. Arm your Gargoyles with that.

you can buy castles in England for less then 2m. It's not like there's only 5 castles in the whole country.. There's over a thousand registered "castles" in england.

+1. I like to relive my Lego castle days in real life. I'd fill the moat with crocodiles though.
