Just got my first RX-8!

Yah... I've joined the rotary family. After (years ago) a Neon R/T, an Acura RS-X, and a 1982 911SC, I've decided to give an RX-8 a try. The combo of handling and a usable back seat won me over... the only real competitor I could find was an M3.

I'm commuting with it every day, & hope to hit an autox at the end of the month. Any advice? I bought an `05 Shinka, with around 40k miles. Hopefully I'll see some of you at a Dallas/Fort Worth area meetup soon.

Ah... I see how that looks. I posted the order a little funky. The correct order should be:
1) Mazda 2600 pickup
2) Dodge Neon R/T
3) Porsche 911SC
4) Saturn SL2 (while I took the 911 apart)
5) Acura RS-X

I loved the Porsche, but I get much of the same feeling from the RX-8. None of the others have been close. Last weekend was the first time since the 911 that I wanted to wash & wax a car, then go for a drive.

Welcome to the Funny Farm. Enjoy your new ride. And an AutoX will make a believer out of you.

Have fun.

Have fun at the autox. If it's your first one, there's lots of tips to learn before you go. Search this section for autox set ups and tips:

Thanks for the kind words guys. I was actually annoyed @ the wax job; the photos don't show that I left the wax too think, and it looked kinda crappy in places. I used Meguiar’s wax; it looked like the the nicest stuff they had at Target.
