Starting to smell like a lemon

My 05 RX-8 has probably spent more time at the dealership than I've actually had it on the road since I bought the thing in mid June. First my synchros and second gear had to be replaced, then the neutral safety switch failed, then I had the sun visor issue, and now my clutch pedal went "pop" and it's sitting at the dealer while they determine if it is under warranty or not. The pedal now is all play and will not disengage the clutch, so I'm thinking it shouldn't be the clutch. Sometimes...I wonder.

It's probably not the clutch but the clutch pedal bracket, kinda prone to it. Sorry to hear about the problems, try to be paitent and stick it out. Once you get it back on the road you'll forget the problems and just enjoy it.

Previous owner probably learned to drive stick with it and wailed on it. Thus, your transmission issues.

I didn't know used cars can be called lemons.

used cars can't be called lemons.. you have absolutely NO idea how the previous owner treated your car so you can't blame Mazda.

I'm just sad that I'm actually going to spend all that to put in my new clutch. Since I'm getting a new OEM clutch installed by the dealer I wonder if I'll have a warranty on it.

1400 ?!

u know that u do NOT have to pay The dealership to replace the clutch right ?

Just tell them to warranty the clutch bracket, Tell them stop giving you bullshit about the clutch is the cause. cuz its not. I've been there and I know more than those greedy bastards.

if u want a new stock clutch setup. stock clutch & new pp cost like what 300 something 400 only, + the pp bearing and other crap I will say 450 u can get everything. install cost like 300 in a good shop

That price for a clutch you don't need is ridiculous. I wouldn't let them go near the clutch. There is more than likely nothing wrong with it. Just the pedal.

I think I am the warranty king on here. I've got 2 full pages of single line warranty repairs. They could have paid for my car and another car. And I ain't done with them yet.

Yeah, that's what I mean. Apparently the clutch lost some teeth when my pedal dropped to the floor.

i am confused. are they saying the clutch disk lost teeth or the flywheel lost teeth.. it the clutch lost teeth, post a photo up. that would be fun to see.

you really need to look at the parts that came out..

you seem to be getting hosed.
