2008 BOTD Events

Just to spark some excitement here... BOTD is less than 2 months away and I thought I would share some of the events that are tentatively planned...yes, that means it can change...so dont hold me 100% to this! We have sold old events, mixed in with some new events, along with a KILLER new venue...with incredible food!

Here is the basic schedule... remember, you are free to participate in whatever events you want, or you can just hit the roads all day...up to you! But in my opinion... BOTD is more about the people than the cars at this point!

Wednesday

3:00 PM - 6:00 PM Check In to NV
6:00 PM - 7:00 PM Meet and Greet Social in front of lodge. (Daily Events Board Posted Here)
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM Dinner
8:00 PM - WHENEVER Socialize and Create Member Map (This will allow everyone to know who is in what cabin!)

Thursday

9:00 AM - 11:00AM Introductions, Safety Briefing, Scavenger Hunt Teams and Rules breakdown. We will have a "get to know each other" excercise, and the Scavenger Hunt teams will be divided.

11:00 AM - 6:00 PM Scavenger Hunt (Amazing Race Style... Details to come... this will not be SPEED focused, rather using clues to find landmarks, take pictures of certain things, etc. This will be an all day event filled with lots of fun and driving!

7:00 PM Dinner

8:30 PM Scavenger Hunt Party and Results at bonfire pit! YES! We will have a bonfire this year!

Friday

9:00 AM - 4:00 PM White Water Rafting
4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Free Time/Dragon Runs
7:00 PM to 8:00 PM Dinner
8:00 PM to WHENEVER - Gameshow Night

This event will be held in the main lodge. "The Price is Right", "Deal or No Deal", and "Lets Make a Deal"....will be some of the games we will play! These games will be for valuable prizes!

Saturday

10:00 AM - 3PM Show And Shine Car Show at Main Lodge with Awards Ceremony
3:00 PM - 6:00 PM Skyway and Dragon Runs
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM Dinner
8:00 PM till 11PM - Vegas Night - Dragon Style!

This event will be a bit different than the past... All paid members will be given $100 in DRAGON BUCKS! You can use these chips to gamble at ANY of the four tables we will have: Texas Hold'em, Blackjack, Roulette, and 3,3,9 (Progressive pot, 3 hand poker). The top winners at 11pm will get to select from a group of great prizes! The person with the most dragon bucks at the end of the night will be the Vegas Night Champion! Best of all ... there is NO buy in! Everyone can play.. as long as you are registered!

and of course Sunday... we all go home!

So thats what we have so far... make sure you send in your registration soon as Natahala is getting booked up quickly!

See you all in a few weeks!

Frank

That scavenger hunt day leaves no real time for Dragon runs. I loved the day we did the Dragon, lunched, then did the Skyway. 7 hours for the scavenger hunt plus time to set teams, rules, etc seems like a lot.

i can not agree more. i do have a limited attention span so if get too bored with on the scavenger hunt i might find myself just driving wherever the road takes me. i just have one question... who's coming with me?

rafting takes about 4-5 hours and our reservation is for 11:30am, so we have to be there by 10:30 or so and leave the village by 9:30.

^^^ Yeah well, you don't have to go through that initial "man shock" when the 40 degree water hits you
