Help with rx8 setup.

I actually had a question regarding my setup. I just put on an OBX header, turboXS race pipe and catback exhaust. and I seem to be running rich.

I have access to a cheap Emanage Blue (under 300) and I really don't want to spend the 800 on the Access port or Ultimate. I don't plan on going FI anytime within the next few years.

Constructively. would the blue help me to get the most from my racepipe?

The blue is basically like the canzoomer correct?

I just want to know if it will do it's job.

You don't need to re-tune for those exhaust mods. You're probably just smelling the cat-less exhaust stink

I would stay away from eManage personally, but yes you can tune your car with it and it works on the 8.

If you're running a midpipe, I believe you should retune it.

Hense why I want to go with the cheaper blue at the moment and not somthing bigger.. I figure when I do go FI, I can always buy an int-x, ultimate, or accessport and sell the blue. or get them with a turbo kit. I just wanted to make sure i'm not wasting my money. and it's able to retune for a NA car.

I don't think the blue emanage can trim fuel. since the std tune is rich it probably wont help you much. a EMU may work. even at twice the price of the emu the access port is the best option. and wouldn't be a waste if you go FI and you wouldn't have to try and sell it.

What was the point of the E-blue then if it doesn't trim fuel?

it adds fuelf or FI. you may be able to wire it to trim fuel so don't quote me on it. read through the emanage threads.

It's just a MAP based fuel management system, same as the ultimate but with less functionality. You can remove or add fuel as desired, but like all MAP based systems changes in climate are largely unaccounted for.

If I'm not mistaken the eManage is a "piggy-back" system that tries to modify the signals sent to the injectors by the stock PCM, so you end up fighting with LTFT to maintain the tune. Not really a great solution IMO... you'd be much better served by an AccessPort, which will have fantasic resale value BTW. You'll have a really hard time unloading an eManage blue on anybody. Unless the thing is like 50 bucks including a harness I'd pass
