Unhappy CEL & DSC lights on (Won't rev)

Hi

When I started my 8 this morning I was greeted with

DSC light is on
CEL light is on
Giving the engine some gas gets RPMs up to 2000 but no higher

Anyone know whats going on ?

I see this on occasion when the MAF gets fouled. In my case this is a result of water getting to the filter on my Mazdaspeed CAI intake which subsequently gets drawn up past the MAF on harder pulls of air when accelerating, etc. The car shifts into limp mode to protect the engine from damage, it will recover from limp mode if the MAF isn't really contaminated and the DSC light will clear after one start-up or so. The CEL will take some miles and few start-ups to clear so long as the MAF is not really contaminated. If the MAF is contaminated, the limp mode may not release. The CEL light may also linger as the engine will not be performing optimally (ex. misfires). If the latter is the case, cleaning the MAF is in order. There are a number of threads on this site that discuss the proper way to clean a MAF.

Thanks VOODOO8. I was guessing this might have been the problem as it's been very wet recently where I live.
