Dash Cover?

Anyone here considering or already have one of those car dash covers?

Are they available?? Basically I want to prevent my dash from cracking in the future due to the sun, ,heat. etc.

Anyone else worried about this? What do you do?

I stopped using armol all
I clean the car weekly with a product on the dash called 2001 pretectant or meiguars dask protectant is good

I don't like dash cover either but I do use Amor All sometime. I figure, by the time the dash happened to crack I would probably find myself in a new ride

I don't think that my dash would crack - in my 9 1/2 years old Probe, the dash is in absolutely perfect condition, no cracking whatsoever and I live in California. However, my car is always garaged when at home so that probably does make a difference.
Dash covers are ugly IMO.

Hmm.. Tamas, did you use some sort of protectant on the dash, or was it untreated for 9.5 years?

I'm curious.. I dont want a dash cover but I live in Hawaii where the sun rules. So what should I do..

No specific protectant was used. The car was very well taken care of, but apart from regular cleaning, I didn't do anything special with the dash.
I really think that the fact the car was not baked all the time when parked must have made a difference though.

The only real protection is to keep the car garaged. Having said that, my car is out in the sun all day while I am at work... In Brisbane Australia. I have never had a problem with the dash cracking on any of my cars. Just clean them regularly... no armourall or protectant at all.

I bought a car cover & sun shield from trussville. I cover my car at work everyday. It's a pain but atleast the ext/int interior will not fade.
