Arrow TWR July Sunday Drive - Freedom Run III - 7/27

For July we're returning to the Kitsap Peninsula. After 2 years, it's about time we enjoy the twisted rural roads that criss-cross the area. We'll head out from Bremerton and enjoy Lunch at Scenic Beach State Park. Then make our way south to an old Ghost Town before returning home via South Worth. This is years most technical route, with some of the twistiest roads around, so be prepared for a bit of a workout. Details and registration, as always are avaialable at http://www.the-winding-road.com/modu...ent.php?eid=40

My brother's wedding is on the 26th, I'll try and make it in August

I always wanted to go over there too, I hear Vashon is pretty cool.

Sounds like fun. My officemate will have his car by then, I'll try and bring him along too.

Drink plenty of water with your celebratory beverages.

Is this something I have to be invited for or just register and show up with some food?

Thats a no go since the people I party with wouldnt let me. Last time I had to drink most of a bottle of patron silver alone since they all had downed a bottle between 5 people and I had gotten there late.

Man. Right now it looks like this will be the first single car group drive in the two years we've been at it.

I appreciate that. I'm sure someone else will make it. If not, like I said, it'll be a group drive of one car. *shrug*

I signed up. I'd been planning on waiting to see what other people were bringing before I registered...

I see that. Cool.

BTW, I pre-ran the route yesterday. I'll be making some changes, but the general idea of it is the same. And stay tuned. If I can get things working right on my computer here, I'll have a surprise in the next day or so.

Here's a taste of what we'll be enjoying Sunday.

Please excuse the metal bar in the middle of the image. I built the mount the evening before, and didn't realize it was going to reflect onto the windshield like that. It's been painted flat black since to help reduce that issue.

I just got back into town and looked at finances. Between my 2 trips, and my dog's surgery and on-going complications from it, I'm not going to be able to go this time.

Sorry to hear that.
I hope the pooch is doing better.

On the plus side, I think we have a Porsche signed up.

Nice camera and mount. Crappy reflection. Nothing that some black spraypaint won't fix.

Sorry I can't join you guys. It looks like it's going to be great!

Sweet. Sounds like it's just me going and not my officemate. See you guys on Sunday. I'm bringing 2 radios with me this time, btw.

I'm sorry you guys can't make it too. As for the mount, it's a temporary design. I've painted it flat black and will be testing it out again this afternoon. When I shot the video above, the mount was suction cupped to the windshield and sitting on solid mounts on the dash. The latest design has it's own suspension on the dash end. A few more tweaks and I'll be ready for a V1.0 TWR Camera Dash Mount. My Dad was trying to convince me to use sprung steel between dash portion of the mount and the windshield portion. We'll see.
