my new 09 rx8 r3!
Been waiting for a while for a redesign/revision on the rx8, and it's finally out!
So for the past month or more I went around 3-4 dealerships inquiring about the R3 model: 2 had no clue what I was talking about, 1 said they weren't getting any, and 1 actually took the time to check the systems for any info. He said the whole state of CA would be getting 4 in this shipment: 1 red, 1 blue, and 2 black (I guess Sami got the other black one, lol!). I didn't have much time to take the pix, was way too excited to drive around in it, so just head over to Sami's thread for all his close-up pix on the interiors
edit: Ok I found some time to take more pics of the interior and under the hood.
To PaPaBear: I tried, but it's impossible to lie down comfortably in those bucket seats, lol
To Huskyfan23: I have no clue if it's any different from the 04-08 models since I never actually owned 1. It does still say to use 5w20 tho... I've read the forum about the oil being too thin and shortening the engine life, but I'm not sure if they'll void my warranty if I switch to thicker oil (assuming they can even tell I switched oil, heh). Guess I'll just stay with it until the engine dies and just swap it under warranty...
The Recaro bucket seats are really snug... a lil too snug. It feels a lil awkward to move my arm to the shifter cuz I have to move it over the side brace near the armpit area, so I end up sitting with my body twisting lil left
To thebiggdaddy: As far as I know the R3 package only comes with the rims you see there. I gues they should let you choose the colors, but I like the gunmetal look =D
To Sami: Haha I'm in Arcadia (by LA), I do drive up to SF to hang out with my friends from time to time. Maybe you'll randomly see another black rx8 r3 by yours at some point =) And if that's the case please don't key it

I looked at an 09 the other day while I had my 8 at the dealer to get decarbed....It was a gray one and the front bumper looked awful...even in person. I didn't like the wheels either. However, your car looks great! Those wheels look great with the black paint. The front end even looks good. I'm impressed. Would I trade mine for a new one...no....unless it is a mazdaspeed one!
