Cool

Vancouver just voted themselves twenty-cents MORE tax per litre!

Guess they didn't feel guilty enough.......

FYI -

In Canada most gas stations didn't update their displays to add the $1.00, so they just omit it. So when you see 67.5, it's really $1.675, which is US$6.26/gal

Yeah right
Maybe they base it purely on the cost of bottled water?

$91.00 to fill up tonight... a few short years ago before bush it would easily be 1/2 that.

Although i do like how they have a "marketing" percentage worked into the cost breakdown of gas.... like it needs to be marketed... pffft

I wish canada would stop exporting it's oil and use it for ourselves... stupid NAFTA doesn't help us at all... we have to set our price based on the US price.

And why does the gasoline bought by retailers (sitting in their storage tanks) rise in price when it hasnt been sold yet? I dont get it.... the "2% profit margin" breakdown jumps to well over 10%...

This is stupid... i hate gasoline prices... especially since it has NOTHING to do with supply/demand!!!

besides that the price of gasoline is a scam... i predict $2/L by christmas.

Then as part of the "plan" they will lower prices down to 1.50 again, and everyone will be like "thats so awesome we're only paying 1.50 for gasoline".... the oil people will be laughing at how their plan worked selling 50 cent gasoline for a buck fifty.

Then some years down the road it'll happen again... and we'll be all happy to be paying $3/L

I doubt we'll ever see anything under a buck again... and i bet everyones wages will stay the same while the price of gasoline, food, goods, everything goes up.

Don't worry, the bubble will pop and prices will revert to the historical average. $150/barrel is simply not sustainable and will throw the entire world into the nastiest recession in 50 years.

I remember getting gas for $0.44/litre in the late 90's from a Canadian Tire gas station. This means it's almost quadrupled in price in 10 years. It's bloody disgusting. I wonder at what point do we as citizens of this fair planet say "Enough is enough." and actally DO something about it rather than **** and moan whilst bent over, taking it in the tailpipe?
