lol, i just bought an '04 rx-8 grand touring edition..i wasn't planning on buying this car it was just really good priced and low miles. .well now that i have it i want to learn all about it. I want to put an intake in it, but all my friends that i know that put intakes in , they ended up taking em out due to problems they had with it.. Any suggestions on which intake to but that will cause no ,or minimal problems?????

 

Intake and exhaust wont make you power, only make noise. You're better off getting a short shifter or better tires if you want to up your performance.

Racing beat makes a pretty good intake that looks damn near stock. AEM makes one that also works, but doesn't look stock at all.

You should probably search around this site for other important information about your new car. Like the fact it burns oil by design and should be topped up on a very regular basis (I check weekly).

Oh yeah. Never turn it off when the engine is cold.

Yeah intakes are gonna run u most likely over 200 and above(200 are very cheap "rice" ones) I would personally look up the DIY Ram air intake(take out all the extra junk out of ur stock intake and save the 300 dollars or so for an exhaust gas to ride around or something that u want the intake on this car is pretty much tuned as good as it can get stock unless u are looking for someting that "loooks good" then prob the AEM CAI in polished would look the best but not too much gain from any intake on this car.....
