Talking RX8Strakes Oil Cooler/AC Guards Installed

Installed the RX8Strakes.com Oil Cooler/AC Lower Bumper Guard over the weekend, and snapped a few pictures.

Opinions Please...

Slipped a picture of my Silver Carbon fuel lid for fun

does look a little tight...I got the same ones and ended up just leaving the oil cooler screens. I also put some black rubber weather stripping on the cut edge of the fog lights. Looks way better. I might paint the screens black soon.

Where did you get the black rubber weather stripping? It sure does look allot better.

I want to remove my bumper again today and re-attempt the install. I might paint a clear coat of rust-oleum while I'm at it.

Style A is the one you want I think. You might be able to find it cheaper somewhere else. Maybe even an auto parts store. GL!

Thumbs up

UPDATED the original pictures in the post.

Went to Advance Discount Auto today and found flexible black door trim for $2. Also picked up a can of Rust-Oleum Clear Coat ($3) and sprayed a layer on before re-applying. Centered everything nicely and didn't over-tighten.

The end product looks allot better than before IMO. Thanks for the advice 05rex8

no problem, looks great!

maybe we should suggest adding the weatherstripping to the kits to rx8strakes.

same here, but I sure like the protection provided around the fog lights. If RX8Strakes released just the fog light cutouts w/ rubber like the OP DIY'd I'd pick up a set in a flash!

I see that now, too! Hopefully they'll make them compatible with their new fog light strakes
