I am needing a spoiler painted and was figuring I would go to one of the Mazda dealerships around South Chicago. Any one had any experience at the body shops at any of the Mazda dealerships showing up on mazdausa.com??

I know that none of the dealerships here in the Cleveland area actually will paint anything. They all will take the spoiler and then outsource the work. Maybe...hopefully things are different out there. If not..I would cut out the middle man fo' show!

Ok I called the 3 dealerships... each uses a different outsourced bodyshop, so I called them. One quoted me 200+ for spoiler paint ("because a pearl finish is very tricky"), one wouldn't give me any kind of quote but wanted me to drive through downtown chicago by 5 today or tomorrow, and the final body shop was referred by Community Mazda.

I forget the name of the shop (will post later) but they quoted me $130 for spoiler and will give me a deal on respraying rear bumper (I have a scratch) since they are already mixing the paint.

Any ballpark estimates to respray a rear bumper??
