Engine light after winter

So back in April I got the 8 back on the road after winter. Ever since I got it running again, the engine light has been on. It runs fine. I figured it would go off by now but it isn't . I can't tell any difference in performance and I don't really think anything is wrong with it but who knows. Should I take it in, wait for the light to go off, get a reading to see what it could be, or other?

Its difficult to diagnose your problem without the CEL code.
Might just be something simple like your gas cap!
Get the code read and post it here.
