First try at some HDR pictures

I was kinda having fun with photomatix and was just experimenting. I'll post more pics when i get the chance but i kinda like the way this picture came out.

Sweet. It came out really well, but doesn't seem to have the standard HDR properties.

yeah, this shot didnt have much color to begin with so hdr doesnt really look that impressive but I thought it came out pretty well overall and i still have a lot to learn in regards to lighting and such to take better photos. Hopefully i'll get some daylight pics once i get the time.

yeah, the first pic is by the HB pier and the second one is the powerplant at pch and newland

my third attempt, this time i didnt have as good of a location and the car is just way too dark but i do like the colors alot. eh, ill try taking some more pics in RAW format to get a better result but im just having a good time

im using my dad's nikon d70s and i only have photoshop cs but im using photomatix for the hdr pics, i cant afford cs2

cool, i need to upgrade my camera i only have a point and shoot at the moment. I usually edit it on photomatix first then photoshop after.

What does hdr stand for? What does it do?

Sorta looks like it has something to do with a slow exposure but I'm sure it is much more technical than that.

it will eliminate shadows a bit more, little more detail, and a little more of the traditional hdr weirdness (if you want it anyway)
