How about this for a block heater?

I posted this in the discussion forum, maybe this would have been a better place to put it.

Interesting product. I wonder how well it will mate up to the contoured oil pan (will the heating element wrinkle etc.?). I am going on the assumption that the Renesis pan is similar to the 13b in that it's convex and wavy...

These heaters were designed for airplanes but worked so well they were soon used by companies working in the arctic.

Here is a link to a company that sells them. These ones are of high quality. http://www.archeat.com/Merchant2/mer...egory_Code=FAA

Just be warned, to keep these heaters on properly, it will require a mild sanding of the oil pan... to make a clean solid base for the bonding material to adhere.

I think you will have better function and easier installation with an "in line" type heater. They go in the heater return hose, and pump the coolant throughout the engine and heater core (some also goes through the rad.). You just have to cut the heater hose and put it in. Probably easier than trying to get that thing on the oil pan. Aircraft use it because many of them are air cooled.
